The challenge was to create a new, "best of class" can opener that excelled on all fronts: aesthetics, ease-of-use, cleaning, cutting, ergonomics, ease-of-engagement, and removal of the can lid. The result is the first can opener to have double handles which lock onto the can, minimizing the needed strength and dexterity associated with using traditional, non-locking can openers.
The design aesthetic is purposeful and carefully designed to direct interaction with the can. The curves of the handles both heighten ergonomics and give the can opener a sophisticated look and an engaging "grab me" quality that encourages users to pick up the Lock-N-Lift… and once they do, it fits their hand so well, it’s hard to put down.
