LYNX

MagSafe Signal-Boosting Battery Pack
RKS Design partnered with mJoose to reimagine mobile connectivity, developing LYNX—a compact MagSafe-compatible signal booster and battery system that keeps users connected when it counts. Using patented near-field coupling technology, LYNX amplifies weak cell signals by up to 100x, doubles battery life, and reduces radiation exposure by 70%. Designed for travelers, field professionals, and remote workers, it delivers dependable communication and power in one seamless, pocket-sized solution—redefining peace of mind in the modern world.

Redefining mobile connectivity through intelligent, seamless design.

A woman with long dark hair holds a silver flip phone to her ear, looking thoughtfully into the distance against a clear blue sky.
Guided by the Psycho-Aesthetics® methodology, RKS explored how emotion, behavior, and environment shape people’s relationship with connectivity and security. Through interviews, observation, and emotional mapping, the team uncovered deep frustration with unreliable cell service and the anxiety of being disconnected when it matters most. These insights revealed a core desire for confidence, independence, and trust in one’s technology—especially in unpredictable or remote settings. Translating these emotions into design principles established the foundation for LYNX: a seamless, portable solution that restores control and calm through intelligent design.

How We Used Psycho-Aesthetics™ to Identify Unique Opportunities in the Project.
Using the Psycho-Aesthetics® methodology, RKS uncovered the emotional motivations behind how people experience connectivity, power, and safety on the go. Research revealed that users didn’t just want stronger signal—they wanted reassurance, dependability, and simplicity in moments of uncertainty. These findings guided every design decision, from LYNX’s intuitive one-touch interface to its balanced form language and MagSafe integration. By understanding not just what users needed but why they needed it, RKS transformed advanced signal technology into an emotionally resonant product that restores confidence and connection anywhere life takes you.

RKS crafted LYNX to feel like an extension of the smartphone itself—sleek, minimal, and essential. Its refined geometry mirrors modern devices, while soft edges and a balanced silhouette communicate reliability and comfort. Designed for portability and durability, every surface and indicator was considered to keep the user experience frictionless. The result is an object that looks intelligent, feels trustworthy, and works effortlessly across environments—from city commutes to remote job sites.
