Meritech needed to evolve from traditional handwashing solutions to a next gen system optimized for high demand environments, industrial food processing, healthcare, and public installations. The goal: deliver fast, reliable pathogen removal with data driven compliance confidence.
Using ethnographic insights and Psycho‑Aesthetics®, we deeply explored user behaviors around hygiene protocols in critical environments. We identified emotional drivers, trust, efficiency, and obedience, as core to adoption. This informed our choice of a high performance design in the enriched quadrant of the PA map.

How We Used Psycho-Aesthetics™ to Identify Unique Opportunities in the Project.
Using our proprietary Psycho-Aesthetics® 2.0 framework, we conducted in-depth interviews and ethnographic observation in diverse lab settings. We identified key emotional and usability pain points — such as intimidation with complex interfaces, workspace clutter, and trust in precision. These insights guided both the form and interface strategy, ensuring approachability and confidence in operation.
We created a sleek touch free enclosure that communicates clinical precision and ease of use. The design features a clear vertical form with intuitive hand placement zones, guided by large countdown timers and physical feedback elements. The modular cartridge system and accessible refill paths enhance hygiene while supporting high throughput operations.

To achieve >99.9% pathogen removal in 12 seconds, we engineered precise pressure, temperature regulation, dosing systems, and robust mechanical delivery. Multimodal prototypes validated the system across rigorous hygiene cycles. Internal hardware innovation enabled accurate dosing and temperature control at scale.

We implemented cloud enabled diagnostics, real time usage tracking, and compliance monitoring dashboards. Connected sensors in refill cartridges and mechanical subsystems provide usage alerts and predictive maintenance reports, critical in high risk food and healthcare environments.
