ViSi Mobile™ System by Sotera Wireless

A wearable continuous vital‑sign monitoring and alert platform engineered to empower healthcare teams with real-time insight.
Standard vital-sign checks occur every 4–6 hours, leaving gaps that risk delayed detection of critical events. Sotera required a system that delivers high-fidelity, wireless monitoring to identify early signs of sepsis and cardiorespiratory decline while preserving patient mobility. RKS addressed usability, reliability, and emotional trust to help drive earlier intervention and improved outcomes.

RKS conducted in-depth field studies in hospital wards with physicians and nurses, analyzing current pain points—intermittent monitoring, alarm fatigue, device usability, and clinical workflow interruption. Through Psycho‑Aesthetics®, we positioned ViSi Mobile within the empowerment/empathy quadrant—focusing on trust, continuous oversight, and patient dignity.

How We Used Psycho-Aesthetics™ to Identify Unique Opportunities in the Project.

Using our proprietary Psycho-Aesthetics® 2.0 framework, we conducted in-depth interviews and ethnographic observation in diverse lab settings. We identified key emotional and usability pain points — such as intimidation with complex interfaces, workspace clutter, and trust in precision. These insights guided both the form and interface strategy, ensuring approachability and confidence in operation.
