Growing up surrounded by design, Delaney Santos never doubted that she wanted to pursue a career in industrial design. Attending her parents’ alma mater, Delaney graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Design from California State University, Long Beach, in 2020. During her time in school, she expanded her knowledge and experience in the field through interning at Southern California Industrial Design consultancies, LDA and Karten Design. She also worked for the CSULB Design Department as both a model shop assistant and a Design Ambassador, acting as the program’s student “face.” As a student, Delaney participated in and won many design competitions. She was the 2020 IDSA Student Merit Award finalist representing CSULB in the Western District, winner of competitive sponsored projects with companies like Epson and Dashdot, and a finalist in the 2019 Biomimicry Global Design Competition. With a goal to solve meaningful problems with empathy and to create legitimate solutions through collaboration with clients and coworkers, Delaney is eager to work alongside other passionate designers and professionals.
